Communities

As currently proposed, there are 31 communities along the preliminary preferred route and/or the alternate routes that have been identified as part of the project’s Presidential Permit application and subsequent filings with the U.S. Department of Energy.

Five of the originally proposed alternate route segments were removed from the project’s Presidential Permit application on April 12, 2011, in response to public comments and concerns.  Removing these route segments from consideration reduced the number of towns along preferred and alternate routes from 46 to 31.

For each of the 31 communities, we’ve created a Web page with maps, images, and project information that is specific to that city or town.
